Mr. Clark is a National Managing Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers and a member of its national executive. In this role, Mr. Clark's primary responsibility is the coordination of PricewaterhouseCoopers' Industry, Line of Service and client facing programs across Canada. Mr. Clark is also Chairman of PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc. which specializes in Business Recovery Services. Mr. Clark joined PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1978 and has worked within the Business Recovery Services area for 21 years. During that time, he was involved in and supervised a large number of insolvency and restructuring assignments in a wide variety of industries including real estate, retail, transportation and mining. He is very well known in the Canadian market place and is a primary advisor to many financial institutions operating within Canada. Mr. Clark is a licensed Trustee in Bankruptcy and is currently on the board of directors of the Insolvency Institute of Canada. Mr. Clark has spoken on various insolvency and restructuring related topics to financial institutions, law firms and other organizations.

Professional Involvement

The following sets out some of the significant assignments Mr. Clark has supervised:

  1. Cadillac Fairview - advising the senior debt holders on the company's restructuring plans under CCAA.
  2. Bramalea Limited - residential housing, residential apartment buildings, industrial and commercial properties.
  3. Matthews Group Limited - residential housing and commercial properties.
  4. R.J. Nicol Homes Limited - golf course development, residential apartment buildings and commercial office properties.
  5. Advising secured lenders in respect of the restructuring of Silcorp Limited and The Becker Milk Company, two of Canada's major convenience store chains.
  6. Advising the secured lenders with respect to the financial restructuring of one of Canada's major retailers, Dylex Limited.
  7. Supervising the insolvency proceedings of a variety of major retail chains across Canada including Agnew Shoes, A&A Records Inc., Atlantique Video & Sound Inc., Major Video Canada Inc. and Consumers Distributing Inc.
  8. Acting as the court-appointed monitor with respect to Royal Oak Mines Inc. and advising with respect to its restructuring plan.
  9. Mr. Clark has also worked on a number of cross-border insolvencies and he has a clear understanding of the dynamics and issues involved in a cross-border restructuring.
