PracticeJim Stuart is the Managing Partner of the Vancouver office of Andersen and the Canadian head of Anderseninance practice. Jim has been providing consulting and business advisory services to a broad range of organizations for over twenty four years and is the quality assurance partner to the majority of the Vancouver officejor clients. Jim is considered to be a leading expert in corporate turnaround and financial restructuring. Jim devotes the majority of his time to advising financial institutions, debtors and creditors in matters of insolvency and corporate recovery and related business and financing problems. He has a variety of insolvency experience including investigations, credit consulting, reorganizations, proposals, receiverships, bankruptcies and liquidation. Significant engagements in which Jim was involved include Robinson, Little & Company Limited, Quintette Coal, Westar Mining, Cassiar Mining, Skeena Cellulose Inc. Professional InvolvementJim became a Chartered Accountant in Winnipeg Manitoba in 1980 and a Trustee in Bankruptcy in 1985. Jim has done numerous presentations at seminars held by the British Columbia Continuing Legal Education Society, Insight and Canadian Insolvency Practitioners Association and others on matters relating to receiverships, bankruptcies and restructurings. Jim is one of eight executive partners that manage the Andersen firm in Canada. He is a member of the British Columbia National Firms Committee. Jim is a past director of the British Columbia Insolvency Association and is currently a member of the CIPA, Insol International, and a direction of the Insolvency Institute.
